For as long as I can remember I’ve always been a person who had big dreams and a plan to make my dreams my reality.

I have a can do, get it done type personality. My motto use to be, move or get out my way. For year’s this plan worked. I wrote down my goals and checked them off one by one.

By the time I was twenty-five I thought I had it all figured out. I had gone through the storm and life was good (I thought).
Unfortunately, I hadn’t learned that my plan and God’s plan didn’t line up.

I was working long hours, meeting the right people, securing clients and cutting deals. I thought I had it all. Yet, my life wasn’t fulfilled.

Honestly, I had nothing. Sure, I had things, but what is that? What does it mean to have the home, car, money, clothes, etc? I can tell you, it means nothing if you don’t have a relationship with the creator.

See, things are temporary. They come and go. They can only bring us temporary joy and happiness. But when you know your calling, and walk in it, you fine true joy.

You know longer seek approval from others. You know longer focus on acquiring things, yet, the focus becomes answering the calling. You learn to serve and be of service. You learn life is too short to focus on anything that is meaningless.

I can’t tell you how happy I am at this stage in my life. Yes, I have problems, bills, crazy family members and I occasional tell myself, “Today, I just want to stay in my PJ’s.” I’ve learned that’s is okay too.

More so, I learned we’re all here for a special purpose. We’re designed in the image of God and we all have a calling. The funny thing is…we’re so busy making our plans, that we don’t stop to ask God what is His plan.

We forget to go to the source daily to see what we’re suppose to do each day. You will be surprised, someday’s we’re just suppose to do absolutely NOTHING. For some of you…doing nothing sounds crazy. Especially those of you who have your plans for the next three to six months. You have goals you must achieve and people you plan to connect with.

For me, doing nothing is a treat. It gives me time to enjoy the beauty around me. I get to sit in the quite and hear. I get to become inspired and empowered by those around me. I get to enjoy the beauty of life.

I’m so blessed to know my calling. I’m also grateful for the calling. I hope you’re on a journey to knowing and answering your calling too.

Until next time, continue to Soar and Celebrate The Brilliance Within!
