Katrina McGhee

katrina-mcgheeFor the past two decades, Katrina McGhee has represented innovation and excellence in women’s health, leadership and empowerment. What began as a desire to make a difference, has led to a life dedicated to improving the health and well being of women around the world. A recognized authority in global marketing, strategic philanthropy and cause marketing, Katrina has become a leading influencer for the organizations she represents to broker mutually beneficial partnerships with consumers and corporate citizens wanting to do well while doing good.

Her passion for a life driven by purpose has encouraged her to embark on a personal journey of sharing her story to inspire others. As a catalyst for abundant living, she’s taken on the challenge of helping women channel their passion into service for the greater good. “There are so many needs in our community, but the time for complaining is over. We must take action. History has taught us that when women band together in passionate purpose, there is nothing we can’t do. We must first believe that we can change the world, and then choose to DO it.”

She continues to serve as a strategic consultant for organizations dedicated to addressing the compelling issues of our time. Specializing in marketing and social entrepreneurship through her newest venture, Katrina McGhee Enterprises, she helps develop novel and innovative approaches for creating awareness of the needs in our community and engaging others in the solutions. “One of the greatest blessings of the recession has been the resurgence of creativity and ingenuity. Learning to do more with less has created an air of “scrappiness” that eliminates superfluous activity and gets right down to the business of getting it done. It is that wisdom that we must hold dear as we settle into what will be our new normal. ”

Katrina has been privileged to provide leadership at two of the largest non-profit organizations in the world. In her recent tenure with Susan G. Komen for the CureĀ® as the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Katrina was responsible for global marketing, business development and cause marketing along with oversight of more than 200 corporate partnerships, more than 140 Susan G. Komen Race for the CureĀ® Series events, millions of donors and more than $350 million in annual revenue. During her time as Director of Marketing at the American Heart Association she launched their first national women’s campaign that included the highly successful healthy lifestyle program, Choose to Move, which helped more than 100,000 women move from sedentary to active lifestyles.

With a heart for helping at home and abroad, Katrina has lectured and consulted on strategic philanthropy and women’s issues in Jordan, Ghana, the Bahamas, and numerous other cities around the world. As an advocate for mentoring young women and girls, she currently serves on the board of the National African American Women’s Leadership Institute and as an advisory board member for The Childhood Domestic Violence Foundation. She’s an active member of the Trinity Chapter of The Links, Incorporated where she is actively involved in their So SMAART program encouraging girls to consider careers in science, engineering, aviation and the arts.
