Jan Strimple

International Model, Dallas-Ft. Worth’s Premiere Fashion Event Producer

Couture fashion model Jan Strimple has been recognized world wide as one of high fashion’s most glamorous and professional runway models. Profiles on her career have been featured on CNN Style, VideoFashion! E-TV, varied T.V. Magazine Celebrity segments, and Good Morning America.

Throughout her career, her face regularly graced the pages of W, Vogue, and the leading European fashion magazines. Her porcelain complexion and statuesque six-foot tall frame have been immortalized by London’s Adele Rootstein mannequin company and you’ve undoubtedly seen her posed in the finest store windows across the U.S.

Designer Bob Mackie brought Jan to the international fashion world’s attention in 1982 when he discovered her in Dallas and immediately booked her for his New York press show. That exposure brought offers from agents and designers worldwide. She has accepted bookings as far away as Hong Kong and Moscow, but maintains a home in Irving, Texas with her husband Dan Strimple, a P.G.A. Golf Professional.

Today, she continues to model across the U.S., confidently representing women over 40 on the runways. As Dallas’s premiere fashion producer, she works with corporate clients like Dallas Market Center, Beauticontrol, Saks Fifth Avenue, Mary Kay, and J.C. Penney as well as producing fashion luncheons for our leading specialty stores and most exacting non-profits. An average year includes the production of more than 70 shows/events.

Jan’s status within her industry provides her with the opportunity to have worked with entertainment superstars like Luciano Pavarotti and Diana Ross. Her insider experiences, working with some of the world’s leading designers, retailers, models, and producers provide a unique perspective on the fashion industry.

Known as a champion of youth, Jan mentors students from fashion design and marketing colleges from Texas to London, teaching the skills and providing experience necessary for them to find success in their field.

For her AIDS fundraising efforts, in 1996 Jan was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame and in 2001 honored by the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS as a “Legend in the Fight Against AIDS.”

In 1999 she was nominated for the Ray Kuchling Award “for outstanding contributions and support of the human rights campaign” and she continued to receive kudos for her philanthropic work in 2006 when she was honored by Philanthropy World Magazine at their prestigious gala recognizing captains of industry and socially conscious citizens in the philanthropic world.

Fashion Group International awarded Jan the Fashion Forum Career Achievement Award in 2003 and the Fashion Innovation Award in 2008 “for transcending the ordinary in the Fashion Industry and raising the bar for others to reach.”
