Margo Ramirez Keyes, a highly-respected Dallas civic leader, philanthropist and community volunteer, was born in the small South Texas border town called Hebbronville, to a 4th generation ranching family. She and her five siblings, the children of the Honorable Judge and Mrs. Horacio S. Ramirez, learned at an early age the importance of family, hard work, education and giving back to the community.
After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics in Business Marketing with an emphasis in textile and fashion design, Margo embarked on a lengthy career in fashion merchandising, retail and wholesale business. In over a 28 year career, she held various buying and management positions with large chains including The Allied and Federated Corporation, and Limited Stores before spending 14 years in the wholesale business with Levi Straus & Company, developing and managing the clothing manufacturer’s relationships with major department stores.
Margo’s consumer product background brought her to the attention of the British Government, and in 1991, she left Levi Strauss to begin working with the British Consulate in Dallas as their International Vice-Consul Commercial Trade Officer. Today, she remains highly involved with various consular offices and activities.
A tireless community advocate, with a particular passion for the arts, education and Latino causes, Margo is actively involved in a wide variety of causes, on a city, regional, national and international level.
Margo and her husband Jim currently own Key Development, LLC where they lease aviation hangar and office space at Addison Airport.
